Scapa Special, CAMRA Champion Best Bitter of Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Swanney Brewery, which is in Orkney, on its Scapa Special being named the CAMRA Champion Best Bitter of Scotland 2019 in cask; understands that the ale’s creation was designed around the history of the scuttling of the German fleet at Scapa Flow on 21 June 1919; acknowledges that it now go on to the Champion Beer of Britain Best Bitter Final in August. after winning the Scottish and Northern Ireland heat at the Glasgow Real Ale Festival, and that it has also been shortlisted for Champion Beer of Scotland title; commends the brewery on the production of Scapa Special and the consistently high-quality of its beers, and wishes everyone at the business every success at the upcoming finals and with their other endeavours.
