Lodged by James Dornan Standard Motion 17 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the children of P4 at Castleton Primary School, and their teacher, Jen Kerr, on the making of a video to promote their "It’s Just Not Fair" campaign, which highlights that Castlemilk, which is in the Glasgow Cathcart constituency, does not have a supermarket despite there being 14,000 residents in the area; notes that residents have to walk 75 minutes to their nearest supermarket; acknowledges that some of the most disadvantaged families have to pay £4.40 per adult and £1.50 per child for a return journey; considers that residents' opportunities for healthy eating and good health is compromised due to the limited access to fresh produce and a wide range of sanitary products, and hopes that development opportunities in the area will lead to a significant supermarket coming into the community of Castlemilk.
