St Machar’s Cathedral Wins Significant Grant
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that a £300,000 grant has been presented to St Machar’s Cathedral in Aberdeen; understands that the money, awarded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, will be put toward vital conservation work, including repairing the historic ceiling; notes that the building dates from the 1400s and is home to an array of stained-glass windows and other artefacts, and looks forward to welcoming visitors to the cathedral once the work has been completed.
