Alfred Smith

That the Parliament expresses its condolences to the family of Alfred Smith, of St Madoes, formerly Scotland’s oldest man, who recently passed away aged 111; notes that Mr Smith, who was born in 1908, served in the Home Guard during the Second World War and then farmed at Kinfauns, and further notes that he was a great supporter of St Madoes and Kinfauns Parish Church and attributed the secret to a long and happy life to eating porridge and having an enjoyable job.
