The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Dawn Gibson, a personal trainer from Menstrie, plans to embark on another gruelling challenge up Dumyat to support Rock2Recovery, an armed forces charity that is close to her heart; understands that, while she is used to running the equivalent distance of two marathons in a single day, she will have a new challenge on 10 August 2019, as her bid is to take on the local hill with a continuous loop for approximately 16 hours; acknowledges that she will undertake and repeat a 3.1 mile route up and down from daybreak to sunset, either power walking or running where appropriate, and aims to raise £1,000 for the charity; understands that, in 2018, Dawn, who is a former tank mechanic of 12 years in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, also supported the charity, Scotty's Little Soldiers, with a 24-hour running challenge, and wishes her all the very best in her very magnanimous efforts.
