2019 National Sporting Weekend
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the recent holding of the National Association of Round Tables of Great Britain and Ireland's 2019 National Sporting Weekend in Aberdeen; understands that the Association is a UK-wide group of organisations with over 3,400 members, which seeks to provide opportunities to try new experiences and works alongside its sister organisation, the Ladies Circle, to give back to good causes in local communities; notes that the 2019 National Sporting Weekend involved more than 250 participants, with Round Table International guests from Norway, Sweden and Germany competing in 10 different sports, including golf, Highland Games and a tug of war; commends the organisers for delivering a great weekend that showcased the best that Aberdeen and the wider north east has to offer visitors, and looks forward to further such events in the north east region in the years ahead.
