Dundee Community Fridge Success
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the positive impact of Dundee’s Community Fridge; understands that, since its launch in July 2019, 3.5 tonnes of food has been donated by shops and collected by communities; notes that this initiative is led by the Gate Church as part of its carbon saving project, which seeks to tackle climate change; notes that retail suppliers, including Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Co-op and Marks and Spencer, have shown interest in the project, and encourages wider participation in and awareness of such schemes across Scotland.
