Kirkintilloch Couple Raise Over £50,000 for Brain Tumour Charity
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Kirkintilloch couple, George and Dorothy Crooks, on surpassing their fundraising goal of £50,000 for the Brain Tumour Charity’s David Philip Crooks Fund, which was created in memory of their son; notes that their fit and active son David, who was a member of Kirkintilloch Bowling Club and Cumbernauld Male Voice Choir, was diagnosed unexpectedly with an aggressive brain tumour when he was 26 and sadly passed away in January 2009; commends George and Dorothy, who have dedicated a tremendous amount of energy to fundraising in his memory, and have already achieved beyond their target for this year, and understands that the considerable sum raised will support research focused on curing and preventing brain tumours.
