Team Scotland Scottish Sports Awards Volunteer of the Year Finalist, Bill Morrison Gardiner
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Bill Morrison Gardiner on being one of three inspirational finalists for Volunteer of the Year at the Team Scotland Scottish Sports Awards; acknowledges that thousands of volunteers give selflessly of their time at all levels of sport in Scotland; understands that Bill is a passionate and dedicated volunteer for LEAP Sports, assisting at numerous events with no job too big or too small; notes that he has also set up a number of groups in Glasgow that offer a safe space for LGBTIQ+ people in sport, including the Rainbow Glasgaroos, a basketball group, theatre group and a volleyball club, and understands that each group has attracted people from all across the community and created safe and supportive environments for students, professionals and asylum seekers from all over the world to play sport, find their community and make friends.
