Muckhart Fishmonger Sheds 12 Stone in 12 Months and Embarks on Charity Cycle Challenge
The motion
That the Parliament commends Iain Whyte from Muckhart, who shed 12 stone in a year and is undertaking a long-distance charity cycle challenge; acknowledges that the fishmonger wished to prove that it is never too late to make a change after he became frustrated with his weight at the age of 55; notes that he weighed 26.5 stone 12 months ago but that a change in diet and abstinence from alcohol enabled him to lose the extra weight at a steady pace; notes that Ian has always been a keen cyclist and is now able to tackle the 980 miles between Land's End and John o' Groats for the Prince's Trust; understands that he has already raised just under £1,500, and wishes him all the very best and every success with his outstanding challenge.
