Gavin's Mill, Milngavie
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Sue Milne and other volunteers from the Fairtrade Shop at Gavin’s Mill in Milngavie who walked the West Highland Way in reverse to raise money for the Gavin’s Mill Community Project; notes that the volunteer walkers raised almost £4,000 for the fund to purchase the iconic B-listed mill building, which dates back to the 17th century, and was a working mill until the 1950s; understands that fundraising for the project has been underway for several months and has been generously supported by local residents, and commends everyone involved for the effort to save this important example of Milngavie’s built heritage for future generations.
