Milngavie in Bloom Wins Two Awards

That the Parliament congratulates Milngavie in Bloom on winning a Gold Medal at the Beautiful Scotland Awards, as well as a VisitScotland Discretionary Award for Tourism; understands that Milngavie in Bloom, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, was given the gold medal for its work on a range of sites, including the Antonine Garden and flowerbeds at the start of the West Highland Way; further understands that the discretionary award was given for a statue of a striding walker, surrounded by a variety of plants and a slate path in a raised bed alongside the main road into Milngavie in commemoration of Tom Hunter, who first proposed the West Highland Way; believes that Milngavie in Bloom has done a great deal of work to make Milngavie a more pleasant and welcoming place for visitors and locals alike, and wishes all involved well in their future work, including work on a red phone box recently adopted at the start of the West Highland Way.
