West Lothian College Digital Festival
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates West Lothian College on hosting its successful inaugural digital festival, Interrupt19, on 11 September 2019, which was attended by over 370 computing students and senior school pupils; understands that this was the first large-scale digital conference of its kind in Scotland aimed specifically at college computing students; acknowledges that it was a festival for students run by students, with HNC Events students responsible for staging this professional event, with Media and Communications students capturing the speeches and other activities on film; commends the college for providing students who were less than three weeks into their courses with access to leading digital experts in Scotland, and recognises that the college plans to make the Interrupt digital festival an annual event to help address the digital skills gap in Scotland.
