On The Ball Campaign Reaches Over 100 Football Clubs
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the On The Ball campaign group on convincing over 100 football clubs to provide period products to their fans; commends football fans, Erin Slaven, Mikaela McKinley and Orlaith Duffy on their hard work and dedication, and for encouraging both their own club, Celtic FC, to be the first club in the UK to provide free period products, and subsequently over 100 clubs since the first announcement, including the US club, LA Galaxy, and German club, Altonear FC, to take similar action; welcomes the campaign's commitment to increasing the voice and visibility of women in football, especially grassroots supporters, its work towards removing the stigma around periods, and continued awareness raising of period poverty; commends individual clubs for taking progressive steps to ensure that menstruation is not a barrier to anyone who wishes to participate in football or support their team, and welcomes all activism that supports free universal provision of period products.
