Solheim Cup and Catriona Matthew
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Team Europe on its victory in the Solheim Cup under the acclaimed captaincy of North Berwick’s Catriona Matthew; notes that more than 90,000 people turned out to watch the event at Gleneagles over three days, making it the highest attended women's golf event ever held in the UK and providing an outstanding platform for the continued growth of women’s golf, and congratulates the organisers, both teams and all the other stakeholders involved in running such a great competition.
