David Pratt, Only With The Heart
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates David Pratt on his incredibly moving exhibition, Only With The Heart, which is currently on show at the Sogo Arts Gallery in Glasgow until 8 November 2019; understands that the exhibition is a look back over the decades of David’s work in conflict zones all over the world throughout his career, with the images on show documenting the hardships faced by many living in war zones; notes that David has acknowledged the people that he has photographed stating, “Their generosity and openness in allowing me into their lives, often at dangerous and traumatic moments, is what has kept me going these 40 years, and reaffirms my own faith in humankind’s capacity to endure and occasionally overcome”, and commends his determination to report from war zones and capturing those caught up in war through no fault of their own.
