Jean Young from Cowdenbeath, Businesswoman of the Year
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Jean Young, who owns the Cowdenbeath-based shop, Jean@Uptown Girl, on being named Businesswoman of the Year at the Inaugural Fife Women Rock business awards on 12 September 2019; acknowledges that Jean, who took over the original Uptown Girl store in 2016 after she bought her wedding shoes from there, is also an active member of the steering group that aims to transform the town’s High Street, and wishes her all the best and continued success.
