The motion

That the Parliament celebrates news that the Buzzin’ Oor Wullie statue, which stood in Barrhead during Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail this summer, sold for £16,000 during a charity auction in aid of the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity; notes that it was the second most expensive of over 200 sculptures across four auctions, which raised a total of £1.3 million for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity and The Archie Foundation; understands that Buzzin’ was sponsored by the All About Barrhead Business Improvement District and designed and painted by the Glasgow artist, Bronwyn Gilgallon, to highlight how important bee conservation is to the survival of the planet; commends all involved in the organisation and running of Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket trail, both in Barrhead and across Scotland, and celebrates the positive impact that the money raised through the auctions will have.
