West Lothian College Student Builds on Strong Foundations

That the Parliament congratulates the former West Lothian College and Armadale Academy student, Aaron Charge, who completed his civil engineering foundation apprenticeship at the college in June 2019; notes that, following presentations to fellow students, lecturers and employers, he was selected to undertake an eight-week work placement with I & H Brown over the summer; understands that the company subsequently offered Aaron a full-time job and is now sponsoring him through a day release graduate apprenticeship at Heriot-Watt University, where he will achieve his degree in engineering over four years; congratulates Aaron on being awarded the Foundation Apprentice of the Year award at West Lothian Council’s STELLAR Awards; commends the growing partnership between the college and Winchburgh Developments Ltd that is providing excellent opportunities for students, and acknowledges Aaron’s lecturers and, in particular, Julie Hyslop, for their role in his success.
