Across the Grain Festival
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the return of the Across the Grain festival, which returns to Aberdeenshire for its second year with almost 100 events and performances throughout October 2019; notes that it will showcase musicians, storytellers, singers, composers and choreographers from across the north east, alongside a diverse selection of national and international acts; understands that, as well as scheduled events at local venues, there will also be pop-up performances ranging from country dance sessions in community centres to young musicians busking at farmers markets; notes that the inaugural event in 2018 was established to celebrate Doric culture, music, language, storytelling and food and drink, and encourages everyone to "get their grain on".
