That the Parliament welcomes the inaugural fundraising event for the Eilidh MacLeod Memorial Trust at its Tartan and Tiaras Ball; notes that over 200 guests came together to enjoy a successful evening of fundraising at Òran Mór in Glasgow, raising £20,000; recognises that Eilidh’s Trust was established in October 2018 in memory of 14-year-old Eilidh MacLeod from the Isle of Barra who died along with 21 others in the Manchester Arena attack in May 2017; understands that the Trust aims to support music education for young people, reflecting Eilidh’s own musical ability and her talents as a piper and member of the Sgoil Lionacleit Pipe Band; welcomes that the Trust will also manage and maintain a permanent memorial to Eilidh and a garden of remembrance and reflection on Barra; praises the generosity of all those involved, and wishes the Trust well in its ongoing efforts.
