Cairns in Cove
The motion
That the Parliament commends the efforts of Cove and Altens Community Council and local residents on the installation of five cairns across the Cove area of Aberdeen; understands that the cairns reflect the history of Cove, with each location’s cairn including information and photographs about local figures and events; notes that the first cairn has been unveiled in Cove Bay, with plaques to be unveiled on the remaining cairns at South Loirston Road, Altens Community Centre, Cove Library and Charleston School; commends the donation by the Allan family to the project, which has historical farming ties to Cove and whose legacy will also be preserved through the cairns; congratulates members of the Community Council on compiling information for the cairns, and wishes those involved every success in the future.
