Success for Morton Ladies
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Morton Ladies on winning the SWFL Division Two title and League Cup in what was just the club's third year; recognises that the Cappielow women’s side finished its domestic campaign in style at Notre Dame High School in Greenock on 29 September 2019 with a 6-0 win over the Irvine-based, Clark Drive Girls, maintaining the team's unbeaten run and adding the championship trophy to the League Cup, which was won in June; notes that, over the course of the season, the team scored 105 league goals and conceded only four, which it considers a tremendous feat that highlights the fantastic encouragement and mentoring that the players have received from their manager, Gary Forbes; appreciates that, due to the restricting of the women’s game, the team, which is run by the Morton Community Trust, is waiting to find out what league it will be competing in next term; hopes that the players' hard work will pay off and see them promoted, and wishes the team well for the season ahead.
