Recycling Rates in East Dunbartonshire
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the residents of East Dunbartonshire on their commitment to recycling, which has resulted in an increase in recycling rates of 6% from the previous year; understands that, with a recycling rate of 54.6%, East Dunbartonshire is one of only six council areas in Scotland where more than half of household waste is recycled and diverted from landfill; notes that the amount of waste generated in East Dunbartonshire has decreased by almost 5,000 tonnes, and commends residents for their assiduity in this regard.
