Glenboig Schools' Walking Bus Hits the Road
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the communities of Glenboig and Our Lady and St Joseph’s Primary schools, which are located in the Coatbridge and Chryston constituency, on the success of their Walking Bus project, which was launched in August 2019 and encourages active travel while aiming to reduce carbon emissions; understands that 1,000 individual walks have been completed on the 20 minute route to and from the campus, offsetting 115 return car journeys; welcomes the funding for the initiative that has been provided by the Paths For All scheme, Better Smarter Choices Smarter Places; encourages as many children as possible to take their place on the walking bus, and wishes all involved with it every success.
