Sportscotland School Sport Award for Coatbridge Schools
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the pupils and staff of Bargeddie, Glenboig, Kirkshaws and St Timothy’s primary schools, all in the Coatbridge and Chryston constituency, on receiving the prestigious sportscotland Gold School Sport Award; understands that the sportscotland School Sport Award is a lottery-funded initiative that aims to encourage schools to continuously improve their physical education and school sport opportunities through recognising and celebrating successful school sports models; acknowledges that this is in recognition of the excellent work taking place in each school to improve the health and wellbeing of all pupils through increased participation in physical education and sports; welcomes the positive impact this has on the lives of young people by improving their confidence and motivating them; appreciates the increased opportunities provided in each school for pupils to get involved and to progress and achieve success, and wishes all involved continued success in the future.
