Orkney Schools Receive Sportscotland Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates schools across Orkney on achieving sportscotland School Sport Awards; notes that Kirkwall Grammar School, Shapinsay Primary School, Stromness Academy and Sanday Junior High School received the gold sportscotland School Sport Award; further notes that North Walls Community School, Pierowall Junior High School, Stenness Primary School, Stronsay Junior High School and Westray Junior High School all gained the silver School Sport Award, and that Dounby Primary School, Rousay Primary School and Stromness Primary School were given the bronze award; recognises that the sportscotland School Sport Award signifies that a school has actively sought to improve physical education and place it at the forefront of the curriculum; considers this to be of immense importance to the wellbeing of young people, and commends the successful schools for their efforts.
