Galloway and West Dumfries Schools Achieve School Sport Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates all of the schools in the Galloway and West Dumfries constituency that have received a sportscotland School Sport Award in recognition of their efforts to put young people at the forefront of decision making and planning in relation to PE and sport in their school, increase pupils' sports opportunities and engagement and put sport at the heart of their planning, practice and ethos; commends Cargenbridge and St Teresa’s primary schools on achieving Gold, Lincluden, Shawhead and Troqueer primaries as well as Stranraer Academy on being awarded Silver and Glenluce Primary School, which received a Bronze; believes that PE is fundamental in both primary and secondary schools and that motivating young people to participate in and enjoy sport will help to ensure that they are fit and healthy as they grow and mature, and looks forward to the continued success of Scotland's schools working towards achieving recognition by sportscotland.
