Mary Watson from Whitecairns Raises Nearly £30,000 for Macmillan
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Mary Watson, who is from Whitecairns in Aberdeenshire, on raising nearly £30,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support; understands that, for over 20 years, Mary has organised a Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event in the village; notes that this raised £2,500 in 2019; acknowledges that she was motivated to support the charity after her brother died of lung cancer; commends Mary on her commitment, dedication and effort over the last two decades; notes that she has decided to now "hang up her apron", and wishes Mary and Macmillan well.
