University of Edinburgh Community Grants
The motion
That the Parliament commends the University of Edinburgh on its Community Grants scheme, which is part of its commitment to social and civic responsibility; understands that grants of up to £5,000 are available to help support projects and activities that increase engagement between the University and communities, have a positive social impact and create learning opportunities, including from non-traditional forms of learning; appreciates that the scheme has already distributed over £180,000 to over 40 projects across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas since 2017; notes that the latest round is now open for applications and closes at 5pm on 4 November 2019, and recognises the community contribution that is made by the University.
