RBS Works With SafeLives to Protect and Support Financial Abuse Victims
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates RBS on its partnership with SafeLives, which is a UK-wide charity that is dedicated to completely eradicating domestic abuse; notes that, through this new initiative, the charity will consult on a range of bank policies, procedures and services to ensure that the best possible support can be given to victims of financial abuse; acknowledges that it will provide specialist training for bank staff including how to spot signs of financial abuse and provide appropriate help; commends the bank on appointing a dedicated financial abuse specialist who will work with its Customer Protection Team and will be available for telephone and video appointments; hopes that this partnership will help the bank better understand the impact of financial abuse on people in Central Scotland and across the country; considers this initiative will provide crucial support and financial advice for the victims, and wishes RBS and SafeLives well with this important new venture.
