Carlops Celebrates Allan Ramsay
The motion
That the Parliament notes the upcoming annual celebration of the poet and writer, Allan Ramsay, in Carlops at the Allan Ramsay Hotel, established and posthumously named in his honour in 1792 due to his association with the area; understands the two-day festival will take place on 18-19 October 2019 with a number of events celebrating both Allan Ramsay’s works and the wider cultural history of the Borders through performances, talks and workshops; believes that such events are an important tool in preserving Scotland’s cultural heritage, and wishes this year’s event every success.
