Kelly Skea and Ross Sinclair Selected for Scotland

That the Parliament congratulates Kelly Skea and Ross Sinclair, both from Orkney, on being selected to represent Scotland at weightlifting in the Celtic Championships; understands that the competition will take place in Wales on 30 November 2019 and will involve the best athletes from Scotland, Ireland and Wales competing for the overall championships; acknowledges that Kelly will compete in the under-20 age category and Ross, who was a bronze medallist at the British Age Group Championships earlier in 2019, will compete in the under-17 category; recognises that this is a significant achievement for both Kelly and Ross, which is testament to their incredible levels of hard work and commitment to their sport, and is also a tremendous moment for those involved in the Orkney Amateur Weightlifting Club who have been involved with their progress and are similarly working hard to develop the sport across Orkney, and wishes Kelly, Ross and all members of the Scottish team every possible success for this year’s championships.
