Kirky Picture Palace's Successful Launch
The motion
That the Parliament commends Kirkintilloch’s new cinema, the Kirky Picture Palace, on its recent opening night, which saw all 600 tickets for the first three screenings sold out; understands that a consultation with residents on the future of the town found that respondents uniformly supported the return of a cinema; notes that the initiative to bring a high-quality cinema experience to the town is a collaboration between Kirkintilloch Community Council, Regional Screen Scotland and Indy-Cinema, and congratulates everyone involved with reviving a much-requested facility that has already been hailed as a "roaring success" by members of the community.
