Dancers Win at World Lyrical Dance Federation Championships
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Sophia Deak, Amylia Cameron, Sophie Cameron, Analiegh Lunan, Abigail Sinnamon, Sarah James and Hayleigh Farr on their haul of first prizes at the World Lyrical Dance Federation championships, which were recently held in Newcastle; understands that the students from Lucy’s Dance Academy in Inverclyde finished first in the under-6, under-8, under-10, under-12 and under-14 categories and in two duet sections; recognises that they are UK champions and also won several firsts at the Kingdom Championships in Dunfermline recently; recognises that the students can now take part in the Dancer of the Year competition, which is only open to dancers who have won first place at competitions; commends the students for their dedication and commitment to dancing, and wishes them well when they take part in their first show at the Beacon Arts Centre in February 2020.
