Edinburgh Hospitality Students Runners-up in International Student Culinary Competition
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Edinburgh College HNC Hospitality students, Shannon McNeil and Sophie Taylor, who were runners-up at the International Student Culinary Competition 2019; notes that the competition was hosted by Grand Rapids Community College’s Secchia Institute for Culinary Education, Michigan, USA and took place on 17 to 19 October 2019; commends the Edinburgh students for their performance while representing Scotland; understands that Shannon and Sophie competed against student teams from Barbados, Canada, Mexico and the United States in a series of challenges and finished the competition as runners-up; recognises that Shannon and Sophie brought home two gold, three silver and two bronze medals, as well as the award for the best national dish, and congratulates these two incredibly talented students.
