Donation to Dedicated Dementia Centre in Clackmannanshire
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that a campaign to fund the opening of a dedicated dementia centre in Clackmannanshire has received a further generous donation; acknowledges that the Clackmannanshire and Stirling fundraising branch of Alzheimer Scotland began efforts to raise £100,000 at the beginning of 2019 to open the resource centre in the region; believes that, earlier in October 2019, the group held an afternoon tea at the Ladybird Tea Room in Alloa, which raised £1,400; notes that this donation raises the total received to around £77,000; further notes that the group is optimistic that it will reach its goal in the coming months, with further events planned; commends the fundraiser, Debbie Cassidy, and her team for their tireless work; further commends the Laybird Tea Room and all its customers for their highly magnanimous donations, and wishes the Clackmannanshire and Stirling fundraising branch of Alzheimer Scotland the very best of luck with all its future fundraising endeavours.
