Daviot and Oldmeldrum Explorers Danceathon Raises over £1,300 for Ugandan School
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Katie Machray, Sophie McCartney, Neve Scott and Heather Scott from Daviot and Oldmeldrum Explorers on raising over £1,300 by holding a danceathon to go towards the construction of a dormitory for P7 pupils at a school in Uganda; understands that a group of Leader and Explorer Scouts from the troop will go to Uganda in July 2020 to spend two weeks helping to construct the dormitory, carry out general maintenance and help with after-school activities; understands that the girls danced non-stop for 12 hours at Daviot Scout Hall, supported and encouraged by family, friends and other members of Daviot and Oldmeldrum Cubs, Scouts and Explorers groups; commends the girls of on their efforts, and wishes Daviot and Oldmeldrum Explorers well.
