Penicuik Athletic Success
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Penicuik Athletic men's team on its recent 3-0 Scottish Cup victory over League 2 opponents Stenhousemuir; understands that the East of Scotland league team went in to the match as firm underdogs, but thanks to a strong performance managed to secure a convincing win; believes that the support of over 1,200 spectators will have been a great help to the players and that the attendance represents the esteem in which the wider Penicuik Athletic club is held locally, in part due to its work in the community; notes that this will result in the club facing Partick Thistle in the third round of the cup on 23 November 2019; believes that this victory demonstrates the great talent in Penicuik and indeed in the wider East of Scotland League, and wishes the club the best of luck with the remainder of its cup campaign.
