£20,000 Raised for Megan’s Journey
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the fundraising efforts of Kelly and Martyn Clarkson in memory of their daughter, Megan, who passed away in January 2019 from a rare form of lung cancer; understands that they have raised over £20,000 from a series of online and local donations; notes that this money has been given to the Children’s Ward at Kirkcaldy's Victoria Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House in Glasgow and the Teapot Trust; commends the winner of the Kirkcaldy Half Marathon, the Paralympian, Derek Rae, for generously donating his prize money to the Megan’s Journey campaign; further commends Megan’s parents, Kelly and Martyn, for their work to promote and enhance the relationship between parents and primary healthcare to allow earlier intervention and diagnosis of rare childhood illnesses; thanks all involved for their generosity in support of an excellent cause, and wishes them continued success in the future.
