New Online Radio Station for Kilpatrick School
The motion
That the Parliament commends pupils from Kilpatrick School in Clydebank on the launch of their own radio station; understands that the internet-based radio station is part of the Developing Young Workforce programme and that senior pupils in S4, S5 and S6 have already posted news, podcasts and creative content online via their SoundCloud profile; recognises that, by working on the radio station project, pupils have developed skills in research, editing, technology, reading and public speaking, and notes that a new recording studio has been built in the music classroom thanks to a generous donation from the Beanfeast charity and that Ewan Cameron, the award-winning radio and TV presenter, cut the ribbon at the launch event.
