Congratulating Crossroads Orkney on its 25th Anniversary
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Crossroads Orkney on its 25th anniversary; understands that the charity improves the lives of carers and those for whom they care by providing information, emotional support and practical help for unpaid carers across Orkney; notes that the charity’s Crossroads Respite Scheme provides short respite breaks to carers, with up to four hours of free respite per week, which gives carers an opportunity to take some well-deserved and important time off; pays tribute to the many people who have been involved with Crossroads Orkney, including the care attendants, board of directors and managers, for their outstanding work and valuable support provided to carers in Orkney over the years; further pays tribute to the incredible and selfless work of carers themselves; recognises that caring can sometimes be a stressful and isolating job, which it considers highlights the importance of charities such as Crossroads Orkney in providing services that support the social and mental wellbeing of carers; commends Olivia Tait and all at Crossroads Orkney for their great work, and wishes them many more successful years to come.
