Station House Cookery School's War on Plastic
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Station House Cookery School and Café in Kirkcudbright on the actions that it is taking to mitigate the impact of climate change and to minimise Station House’s need for single use plastics in an attempt to prevent plastics from entering the world's oceans; notes that, among the measures taken by Station House, is a commitment to only using Vegware, a plant-based compostable form of packaging that contains zero plastic; understands that, in light of around 1 million bottles of water being bought and sold around the world every minute, Station House are committed to only using refillable cups, and are part of the DG Refill programme, offering free water refills to anyone who needs one; commends Station House on doing its bit for the environment and in minimising single-use plastics, and encourages other businesses across Dumfries and Galloway to take steps to tackle the fight against climate change and single-use plastics head on.
