New Sensory Room for The Centre in Livingston

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates management and staff at The Centre in Livingston on their plans to open a quiet sensory room for children and young people experiencing sensory overload before Christmas; understands that the new room will feature interactive, sensory equipment to provide a calming, relaxed environment; acknowledges that two thirds of autistic people in Scotland feel socially isolated, but that making small adjustments can often make a big difference; welcomes the move to introduce the sensory room at The Centre to improve accessibility and ensuring services are accessible for autistic people and their families, and wishes the management every success with the venture.
