Skiing Success for Isla Cameron
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Isla Cameron, who is a pupil at St Nicholas’ Primary School in Bearsden, on her outstanding success, at home and abroad, in both indoor and outdoor ski racing; notes that, so far in 2019, Isla has won gold at the GBR outdoor series and silver in the indoor series, which, combined gave her second place in the series overall; acknowledges that, in her first overseas competition at the BASS indoor races in Landgraaf, she won both the slalom and combined events and that she has also won silver at both the Scottish Indoor Championship at Braehead and the British Indoor Championship in Manchester as well as gold in both the Slalom and Grand Slalom events at Hillend in Edinburgh to clinch the Scottish Outdoor Championship title; understands that Isla trains at Bearsden Ski Club, at Snowfactor in Braehead and overseas with Glasgow Ski Racing; acknowledges the skill and dedication needed to reach this level of achievement, and wishes Isla continued success in her sporting endeavours.
