Lodged by Jamie Halcro Johnston Standard Motion 20 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Stromness-based Orkney Historic Boat Society (OHBS) on being gifted two vessels to add to its collection; understands that Martin Foulis from Deerness presented it with a North Isles yole, Waterlily, which had been owned for five generations by his family, and that the Annal family from South Ronaldsay gifted a lifeboat from the Norwegian tanker, M/T Arne Kjøde, which was sunk in 1939 by U-41 under the command of Kapitänleutnant Gustav-Adolf Mugler; commends the donors for their generosity; believes that the preservation of maritime historical record to be paramount to the cultural heritage of Orkney, and sends its best wishes to the OHBS.
