£3.5 Million Funding for the Cancer Research UK Glasgow Centre
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Cancer Research UK Glasgow Centre on being awarded £3.5 million over the next five years to pioneer new radiotherapy technologies and techniques that could help more people survive cancer; understands that this award is part of a £56 million investment by the charity's UK-wide RadNet scheme, which is its biggest ever investment in radiotherapy; believes that the Glasgow-based researchers will develop and test new radiotherapy/drug combinations and techniques to help improve radiotherapy treatment for patients with hard-to-treat cancers and cancers with poor prognoses, and wishes everyone involved success with this vital cutting-edge work.
