Opening of Males Tales
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the opening of Males Tales, a men’s mental health hub, in Helensburgh; understands that Males Tales is designed to provide men aged 16 and over with an environment where they can talk without any pressure or judgement in a comfortable informal setting; recognises that the group was created in response to the five-year high of suicide numbers in 2018, with men making up 74% of those who took their own lives; acknowledges the work that Males Tales does to help fill the gap in the mental health support network for men by providing them with this important setting to express themselves, and supports Males Tales in its crucial work.
