Road Safety Awareness at St Mary's Primary
The motion
That the Parliament commends the P6 and P7 Junior Road Safety Officers from St Mary’s Primary School in Duntocher for their innovative road safety campaign; understands that the pupils worked with the Learning Assistant, Miss Rogers, to utilise their organisational, creative and IT skills in a road safety project, which will culminate in a special assembly attended by local community police officers; notes that the class took their idea for pop-up "Little People" to West Dunbartonshire Council, which provided them with the figures for use outside the school to remind parents to be considerate during school drop-offs; understands that the pupils, who also worked collaboratively to design a poster with the slogan, Park Safely for Our Safety, have put in place a buddy system to mentor younger pupils on traffic awareness, and congratulates them on their inspiring approach to road safety.
