Lodged by David Torrance (Scottish National Party) Standard Motion 24 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of a major national campaign by Citizens Advice Scotland called #DotheRightsThing, which aims to raise awareness among young people of their employment rights; understands with concern that one in ten young people in Scotland do not know that the minimum wage is a legal requirement, and that the charity has numerous examples of young workers being exploited; notes that Citizens Advice Scotland is encouraging young people to anonymously submit online their bad experiences in the workplace to allow the charity to continue to campaign for a fair deal at work for young people, and calls on all parties to come together to support the campaign and help raise awareness among their constituents who are aged 25 and under of their rights at work.
